I bought the Kaito KA404 Emergency Hand Crank Dynamo 5 LED Flashlight with AM/FM Radio out of need and a bit of curiosity. I figured that batteries die and power goes out but your hands will always work… hopefully.

Kaito KA404 Emergency Hand Crank Dynamo 5 LED Flashlight with AM/FM Radio
The dynamo power is strong enough to power the flashlight for a long period of time after a few minutes of cranking. The cranking device on this flashlight is sensitive and delicate so you don’t need to crank it really hard to get a good charging cycle going.
Although I did not buy this unit for its AM/FM radio, I’m happy to report that it works great. To my surprise it receives reception well. Do bear in mind that the radio does use a lot of power. So, if you may need to crank it a few more times afterward if you want to use the radio continuously.
When I wanted to buy the Kaito KA404 Emergency Hand Crank Dynamo 5 LED Flashlight with AM/FM Radio, I was told that it would not be as bright as the normal battery operated flashlight but I find the lighting is excellent. It tends to dim down a few times but I don’t find that troublesome. The flashlight’s flat base enables it to stand up vertically and helps to light an area without holding it or propping it against another object like a candle would.
When I was researching this flashlight, I’ve read that the charging crank falls apart after a few uses. It’s been fine for me so far but I’ve realized that the plastic crank handle has cracked so I may have to use it more carefully now.
If you’re not a frequent user like me, the Kaito KA404 Emergency Hand Crank Dynamo 5 LED Flashlight with AM/FM Radio may be the one for you. Other than its flimsiness, it’s actually a good flashlight for the price that you’re paying.
